This does end in a cliffhanger. It is the set up for JUST FOR THIS MOMENT. It gives a brief tale of how these two are getting ready to have their own story. It would be easiest to download this one and at the same time download JUST FOR THIS MOMENT. I was lucky and got both free so it worked out well for me. Otherwise, I NEVER download a cliffhanger ending. I really think the story JUST FOR THIS MOMENT would read easy without this prelude. There is enough referring back that the reader will not feel something is missing or lost.But this story sets up the next book. It was short but it did tell how they met, etc.

I stumbled on Kait Nolan while looking for a new book to read. I am big fan of contemporary romance and this book as well as her full length Wishful series really delivered. The characters are well drawn and realistic. Some other novels in the genre have characters that are simply drawn and the story depends on heat between the main characters to get you through. What I liked best about these books is that I wanted to be friends with characters and was invested in their stories. I can't wait to read all of the series for Meet Cute as well as Wishful!
Theses books are such fun!
I have read another of Kait Nolan's Wishful tales, and looked forward to reading this one. Some of the characters turn up again, and certain episodes are seen from different people's perspectives in the various tales, thus enriching the experience. I found the story more enjoyable than the cover might have lead me to believe, it was about a group of people in Wishful where two people got closer to each other, with a bit of help from their friends.
warning this is a cliff hanger and you have to buy the second part to find out what happens. I should've looked closer to the page count since theres only 69 (?). I'm not going to buy the second part. If the writers can't bring themselves to give me the full story then I can't bring myself to buy anything and waste my time and money on it
Cute romance is a perfect title for these short reads that give you a nice sample of Ms. Nolan's style of writing. The Cute books don't have to be read in order unless you're reading the Wishful series, which I am. In that case, it serves as an epilogue to Be Careful it's My Heart and introduces more characters that will appear in future books. I like being able to tie the series and the Cute shorts together for a more enjoyable reading experience.
Of the three meet cute books in the series I've read, this was my favorite so far. I loved the reference to White Christmas (also a family favorite in my house), and how that was the basis for the meeting of Piper and Myles. I also really liked that there was a second chance meeting in for some other characters. I'm planning to read how Piper and Myles' story finishes in their full size book. Even though I know there's more, I'd be okay with where this ended, in case you're worried about a cliff hanger ending (I really don't like those myself).
Once Upon a Setup is actually a prequel to one of Kait Nolan's other novels,Just For This Moment A Small Town Southern Romance (Wishful Romance Book 4), where you get the story of how Myles and Piper first met for the theater roles that will lead them to the story many many years later. Myles was in town as a reporter and he's detected a story around Piper when she seems to have lied for a friend... It's cute, and it's fun read, but it's not much more than that.
I've read through this whole series, in record time I might add, and loved this one as much as the others. The only thing that frustrated me is this one has a bit of a cliff hanger! UUUGGGHHH! Totally didn't expect that! But, since I started on Kait Nolan's Wishful Romance series, where Myles and Piper's story continues in Book 4, I'm OK. All the books in the Meet Cute Romance series can be read out of order, so I'm hoping that's true for the Wishful series too! On to book 4!!
